Youth

Sunday School

The current number of youngsters in our active Sunday School is 25 with an age range between 3 and 14 years. Although adopting a modern approach, in our scriptural teaching, we still retain some of our old traditions such as having a Sunday School Queen.

We are also active members of the Sheffield Christian Education Council (SCEC), participating in their Bible Exploration examination and Arts & Crafts festival.

New members to the Sunday School are very welcome.

Attic

As well as our Sunday School we also have other youth activities. One of these is the attic club which meets on Fridays. This is an active youth club for children aged between 9 and 15 years providing craft-making and sports facilities. Admission is by membership only since the club is extremely popular.

Football

Our youth clubs have a successful football team and our 5-a-side team are the 2000-2001 MAYC National Champions, North of England Champions and Sheffield Champions.

Young at Heart

Talent Time

Talent time is a group of ladies of varying ages who meet together to do many different crafts. We have been together for about 15 years. We have lots of fun and most of the crafts we teach each other - a real sharing of our talents.

We meet weekly in the schoolroom of Grenoside Methodist Church on Tuesdays 9.30 a.m. – 11.30 a.m. only closing for Bank holidays and Christmas.

When we began , we did not know how wide our talents would stretch and many of us did not realise how proficient we would become in some of them. Of course we made mistakes, but that did not deter us from having a go at lots of things we thought were beyond our capabilities. Approx 125 different crafts to date !!! We triumphed over many odds.

We have raised lots of money for the church by having sales, coffee mornings etc. Long may we continue. If you would like to join this happy band, just come along.

Ladies Circle

The Ladies Circle is a social group for ladies that meets fortnightly on Tuesdays at 7.30 p.m. It meets in the schoolroom of Grenoside Methodist Church. There are speakers, trips and other events. The current membership is about 25 and if you would like to join us please come along.

 Toast and Talk

Come and enjoy a cup of coffee, a slice of toast and a chat. We're open from 8:30 until 11am every Wednesday (excluding school holidays). A special welcome to parents with young children - some books and toys are available - and also older members of the community.

Toast and Talk is also held on some Saturdays (see 'Coffee Mornings' below.)

Choir

The choir meets on Friday evening at 7.30pm for a few weeks before a performance date e.g. at Easter or Christmas to prepare the music. It also sings an introit at the beginning of most of our services.

If you feel you would like to join us, please contact the minister via the 'Contact Us' page. We have a very relaxed atmosphere and enjoy our meetings.

If you want to see what we're doing at the moment, see the 'What's On' page for more information.

Coffee Mornings

We try to hold a coffee morning on the first Saturday of each month. Sometimes it is fundraising for a particular cause, or sometimes it is just for a coffee and a chat!

The Saturday version of Toast and Talk is held on the third Saturday of each month.

Occasionally, coffee mornings are held on other Saturdays too.
